Perhaps the shredder was broken....

In the big office shifting of the beginning of the year, we decided finally to empty a two drawer filing cabinet that has been locked since it belonged to the chair prior to the chair prior to me. Four piles were needed: 1) shred 2) refile 3) recycle, and 4) save to post from judiciously to this blog. Pile 4 is a doozy folks. So, your gem for today is from a 1995 memo to a certain faculty member regarding complaints from students in a course:

"You have told me that the main comment in question, a reference to a woman student's being a virgin, occurred while you were giving a lecture in Spanish concerning the practice of Aztecs to sacrifice virgins. To make your point, you took the arm of a woman student and presented her to the class as the virgin to be sacrificed... The three complainants state that there were repeated indirect references to this woman as a virgin over a period of several weeks, but you have assured me that this was not the case."

Rail Trail

I have been trying to up the physical activity because I always feel so great when I push myself. On Saturday I rode 28 miles on the Rail Trail. Parked the car in Wanship and rode to the end of Echo Reservoir. I was feeling pretty smug on the way out. And then I turned around to ride back. Darker clouds had rolled in and there was a wicked head wind. At certain points, I admit it, I let loose a primal scream. There was no one to hear it but cows and it made me feel better. Here are some pics:

This one especially for Ali and Sian:
